The suspect driver was booked into CJC for his outstanding warrant as well as vehicular assault and related traffic offenses. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to area hospital where it was determined they sustained serious bodily injury. The driver was also arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. The driver was found to have a felony arrest warrant. Other drivers and witnesses followed the suspect driver to a business in the 1900 block of South Nevada Avenue. On April 23, 2023, at 2:01 PM a hit-and-run traffic accident was reported at West Brookside Street and Ivy Place. The investigation is ongoing, but speed appears to be the only contributing factor to this crash. and Palmer Park Blvd was closed for several hours while investigators completed their work.
